I mean I didn’t have to do any work in English at all hardly, except write compositions once in a while. (Page 10 paragraph 2) = this phrase shows that he only passed one class because he had already read the books.

12. "I thought she went to Shipley. I could of sworn she went to Shipley" (page 33 paragraph 1) = this quote shows that Holden knows her and that he is scared to see her again because something happened a long time ago.
13. "Don’t knock yourself out or anything, but just don’t make it descriptive as hell. Okay?" (page 34 paragraph 7) = this quote shows that Stradlater knows that Holden is smart but he doesn’t try hard because if he was dumb he wouldn’t be able to make it descriptive.

16. That is all I know about the Egyptians. I cant seem to get very interested in them although your lectures are very interesting. (page 12 paragraph 3) = this is what he wrote on his exam paper, Holden says he did not write anything because he did not find the Egyptians interesting which means if there is something interesting to him he might excel in it.
