Sustainability blogpost 3

Here are some pictures of things that i purchased throughout the week. Here is the tag of an organic cotton shirt that i bought

` This is an fresh ahi salad i bought from Aloha salad which is made locally

Here is a picture of organic granola that i eat with my yogurt

This is an organic acai smoothie that I drink every morning to get my daily servings of fruit

This past week I was pretty sustainable because I drank organic smoothies everyday and also drank organic soymilk. 7 out of 10 showers I took this week at home were 3 minutes or less and the other 2 I just forgot about it and after I cam out I remembered, but I am saving over 50 percent of water that I use in my showers by doing this. During this week we did not use paper plates or cups at all, we only used ceramic and glass cups.
This week at the market we bought organic smoothies, organic yogurt, and organic granola, we also bought fresh fruits like pineapple and strawberry. On Friday we carpooled to the volley and back which saved some gas.
On Friday I attended the sustainability fair on Rice field, which I enjoyed a lot because I learned a whole bunch of ways I can be more sustainable at home and school. One thing I am really interested in is solar water heating because it is not that expensive and all my water can be powered by solar and a lot of electricity is used to heat water. Also at the fair I at a watermelon which was probably the best watermelon I ate in a long time and maybe because it was organic it just tasted that much better. I am thinking about getting a worm bin inside our house but I don’t know if my parents will allow because of the mess it can cause.

lowell i really enjoyed how you took the time to take pictures about the things you bought. It really brought out the blog, and gave us a good idea about how you are working to become sustainable.

I am glad that you are trying to conserve water and gas. I think it's great that you and your friends are carpooling to volley ball practice and that you are taking sub 3 minute showers.

It's great that you had a great time at the sustainability fair. I told you to get the watermelon and obviously it paid off.

I was wondering how much the organic cotton shirt at billabong was. I too would also like to purchase organic cotton materials.
